Marc Oien

Marc Oien is a senior insurance claims and litigation consultant with nearly 26 years of experience managing complex liability claims and advising on high-exposure matters. He spent the majority of his career in senior home-office claims leadership roles within the insurance industry before transitioning into consulting, where he advises insurers, law firms, and organizations on complex claims and litigation strategy.

Throughout his career, Marc has overseen significant claim portfolios and guided litigation strategy across a wide range of complex matters. He has worked closely with national defense firms, claims professionals, and executive leadership to evaluate risk, manage exposure, and drive effective claim resolution. His experience includes commercial liability and transportation-related claims, including matters involving trucking operations and regulatory issues governed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

At CFI Consultants, Marc provides strategic claims consulting, litigation advisory, and claims handling analysis. His work includes claim file audits, early case assessments, trial monitoring and reporting, and evaluations of claims handling practices and industry standards.

Marc also collaborates closely with CFI’s trial support team, offering a claims-side perspective to strengthen trial preparation and litigation strategy. His background allows him to provide a practical, carrier-informed viewpoint when evaluating exposure, preparing witnesses, and assessing case strategy leading up to trial.

In addition, he supports law firm clients by providing insight into the claims and carrier perspectives that often drive litigation decisions. Drawing on his experience within a national carrier, he helps develop associates’ understanding of claims handling dynamics, client communication, and reporting expectations.
